Preferred Drilling has acquired a 2022 Terrasonic 150cc rig for our fleet. This sonic drill rig is being operated out of our Pinellas Park branch and services the entire state of Florida. The addition provides PDS with better availability to conduct deeper scopes of work for clients over a larger geographical area.
Preferred Drilling is proud to announce that December 2021 marks 20 years since our company drilled its first hole. PDS was started with just two conventional drill rigs and two Geoprobe® units. By 2006 PDS had grown to over 20 employees and opened a second location, in Lakeland, FL. Our 3rd location, in Live Oak, was opened in 2010 in order to better serve Northern Florida. The last decade has held several more branch openings including the purchase of Huss Drillings’ Bonifay, FL office in 2019. PDS currently operates out of six locations with approximately 65 full time employees on staff. None of our growth would’ve been possible without the support of our clients, vendors and employee-owners. We want to thank everyone involved in making us the company that we are today. THANK YOU!!
Preferred Drilling is pleased to announce the opening of our branch location in Roberta, GA. PDS has been working in Georgia for years so having a physical presence there will now increase our availability and reduce costs & travel time. At this facility we house one Geoprobe® 7822DT track mounted combo DPT/auger rig and one conventional CME75 drill rig.
This branch will be managed by Ariel Torres who has been drilling with PDS for over a decade.
Preferred Drilling has acquired a second Geoprobe 8040 rig for our fleet. This probe is being operated out of our Pinellas Park Branch and will serve the central and southern portions of Florida. This rig is capable of well installation via both direct push and hollow stem auger. It can also install double cased wells, conduct split spoon sampling and do deep DPT sampling in excess of 150ft. Preferred Drilling has acquired a Geoprobe® 3230 rig for our fleet. This probe is being operated out of our Lakeland branch and services the entire state of Florida. The 3230 rig has similar capabilities to our 8040 rig. It has the strength of a conventional drill rig with the versatility of a track mounted probe. This rig can install wells up to 6 inches in diameter and to depths of up to 75ft pending local lithology. It is also capable of DPT sampling depths in excess of 150ft. This addition provides PDS with better availability to conduct deeper scopes of work for clients over a larger geographical area.
PDS is pleased to announce the acquisition of a Terrasonic 150cc track mounted sonic drill rig. The addition of this rig enhances our deeper sonic drilling capabilities as well as cover a wider geographical area. PDS debuts our new South Florida branch located in Pompano Beach, FL. This branch was opened to more effectively service the southern portion of Florida including the Keys. It houses two Geoprobe® 7822DT track mounted rigs and one CME75 drill rig. We hired Mark James to manage this new branch located at 2270 NW 30th Place.
Preferred Drilling expands our sonic service line with the additional of an 8150LC. This track mounted rig is being housed in our Bonifay branch and is a perfect fit for the deeper drilling depths required in the Panhandle.
PDS acquires Huss Drilling’s Bonifay branch located at 2349 Hwy 177A. This acquisition has yielded us an additional Geoprobe® sonic rig (8140LS), another Geoprobe® 7822DT DPT combo rig as well as two highly experienced operators (Kent Fowler & Jon Brandon). This purchase will help us to better service the northern portion of Florida and surrounding states.
We are pleased to announce our entry into the sonic drilling market. PDS has purchased a Geoprobe® 8140LC track mounted sonic rig. This rig will be housed in our Pinellas Park branch and will be available for scheduling anywhere within our service area.
